Utility companies struggle to provide enough electricity for houses and businesses during periods of extreme heat or cold. How will they keep up if hundreds of thousands (or millions) of hybrid vehicles are added to the mix?
I guess it depends on where you live, we are actually facing decreasing load projections in this part of the country. Energy efficiency is real. LED lights alone have dropped load demand projections significantly. We are seeing load pretty much flat line for the foreseeable future.
Unless the whole country goes electric at once, we can handle building new plants and diversifying our generation between different sources for a slow growth in electric car use.
Most of the load growth will be at off peak hours with electric cars as well.

For No. 2, a wise person would make the batteries universal and quickly removable, then the time would be far less. Just pull in and swap the battery. Takes me like 5 seconds to swap a battery on my electric leaf blower vs about a minute or 2 to fill the tank on my Echo.
About that, I saw online most electric auto batteries used right now weight 230 kilograms. I'd love to see how some 65 year old grandma is going to swap that out.

Democrats want to regulate fossil fuels out of existence. This is their plan.

You just drive in and the machine swaps it out for you. Already in practice. The difficulty is apparently in making it a universal battery, not the weight.
