An anomaly in your opinion perhaps. The country doesn't need an army and I disproved his assertion with an example. Pardon me for mentioning a country you've never heard of. You need to work on your trolls fleaux. shite is weak.

Bhutan has an Army and internal security forces as well as bilateral military ties with India. Not saying that their survival relies on those arms (India or China could absorb them without breaking a sweat) but the nation itself was cobbled together by a military leader and later secured by its relationship with the British.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian death toll has climbed to 798. Not sure how many people will have to die before the Zionists and crusaders start sympathizing.

They don't need a military to exist. That's the whole point. Try to keep up boy.

The foundation of the state certainly relied upon weapons and competent military leadership (my OP said relies/relied). Since then, they've been covered by the weapons of war of greater powers (British Empire and India).

I find it curious that you specify "western religions." Do you think Hinduism and Buddhism and Chinese folk religion is inherently more peaceful?

Here's a clue. Have Hamas stop hiding behind women and children.

That should make a dent in the civilian casualties, don't you think?

Yes I think the the majority are. Daoism is the most peaceful and logical among these IMO.

Your opinion. Their independence does not rely on weapons. It never did. They fought no war for independence. India handles their foreign relations. Bhutan doesn't need a military in itself to exist. Like you said, china or india could absorb them at any given time.

And I don't think Netanyahu is as emblematic of a typical Israel as we tend to believe in this country. He and the Likud party have their share of detractors within Israeli society and government.

They have their share, but their share is shrinking pretty rapidly.

If an election were held today, the right/religious parties would gain seats compared to their current alignment. Netanyahu could dump one of the centrist elements of his coalition (Yesh Atid or Hatnuah) entirely. Or if you want to go full doomsday, both centrist parties are kicked out in favor of Shas. A Likud/Beitenu/HBHY/Shas coalition would pretty much be a mandate for ethnic cleansing.

Agree 100%.

And you're both wrong.

Want to see what the world would be like without western religions? Read up on China under Mao or the USSR under Stalin.

True story. The overwhelming majority of combat-related deaths throughout history have had absolutely nothing to do with religion.

So the world needs religion in order to keep our ethical integrity? Without religion, would every country be like the ussr and china?

Some rabbis and Jews protest the existence of Israel because of the "Three Oaths". It is included in the text of the Torah. It says that Jews are to remain in exile, as guests of the nations of the world until the Messiah returns and unites them into a Jewish State. The existence of Israel contradicts this portion of the Torah and therefore draws protest from many Jews.

I think his point was that nothing in history suggests that getting rid of religion would somehow usher in a more peaceful era. Most war deaths can be attributed to conflicts over ideology, ethnicity/tribalism, land, resources, etc--not religion.
