I have an older sister who is a progressive/ liberal. I actually refer to her type as "distopians" as they actually have little in common with progress and their actions produce the opposite of utopia. She has a long list of education and sociology degrees. Her life is a financial train wreck. She has a house full of cats. She allows lazy bums to take advantage of her generosity because she "feels their pain". She thinks banks and businesses are evil, greedy monsters. Every government freebee is justice in her view. She tries to lecture me on economics, (I hold Accounting, economics and Finance degrees)of which she has zero understanding. Though she has "book smarts" she looks down her nose at conservatives and producers like me. She is a complete close minded idiot. She was a social outcast in high school. She absolutely fits the profile described in this thread. My parents and I have always been good to her, given her money to bail her out of her self inflicted financial messes but she doesn't appreciate it. Though I objectively recognize her deficiencies in judgement, I will always love her with full expectations that she'll never change for the better
