Why do conservatives think they can debate leftists with Constitution talk

We are talking about straight up Bolschevicks, purely evil tyrants that want to rule over you. I always picture some Constitution nerd like Ted Cruz trying to argue with them about how in "Article III of the Constitution" and "in the Federalist Papers, blah blah blah. " They do not care, they will wipe their arse with the Constitution, and then turn around and call you unConstitutional... why, because they can.
Make no mistake, they are coming after people's guns, and shutting down any opposition speech. And once they have the 1st and 2nd out of the way, they will walk all over every other ammendment in the bill of rights. To top it off, red states won't put up any resistance and conservative judges will look the other way out of fear. We will still have nerdy GOPers in suits with briefcases, writing stern letters and then going on Hannity to whine about the big bad Democrats.
We are trying to save this country and most of them are more worried about their chamber of commerce buddies and PAC money.
Th days of relying on these milqetoaste limp weiner GOP RINO arsehats needs to be over. Either they need to grow some balls, lead, be prepared to sacrifice and risk alot, or get out of the way!

We don’t.
You can’t debate a rabid lunatic who doesn’t believe there’s such things as universaltruth, and thinks his feelings can change biology at will, and babies aren’t people.

I used to think that you can. That if I just shared some nugget of wisdom, they would see the light. Then I realized they don't even believe half their own shite, they just want power and control and will do it by any means necessary.

How many people believed Mike Pence could change the results of the election in his role on January 6th?

No one did, but that is because that isn't what anyone or Trump asked him to do. I know that is hard for you to realize because CNN probably told you otherwise.

Oh really?
quote:
“He can decertify the results or send them back to the states for change and certification,” Trump said. “He can also decertify the illegal and corrupt results and send them to the House of Representatives for the one vote for one state tabulation.”
Neither the Constitution nor congressional statute grants the vice president any such powers.
And yall want to talk about arguing with libs about the constitution.

Listen, Trump is not polished with his words we all know this. But he isn't saying what you think he is saying. He was presented two slates of electors, and the states themselves asked for him to send back for the 10 day review.
If Pence called for this review, please tell me what could have stopped him? Do you have an answer?

Ah, I see. So first Trump didn't say it, but then he did say it, but he didn't mean it.
Guess he doesn't "tell it like it is!"

Are you suggesting that Pence can ignore the constitution? The whole basis of this thread...that conservatives have higher knowledge or are more faithful to the constitution. Interesting you'd pose the hypothetical "who could stop him" argument.
The the Electoral Count Act of 1887 specifically limits his powers so that he cannot do what Trump asked him to do. It is a federal law which adds to procedures set out in the Constitution for the counting of electoral votes.

What Trump is saying, is Pence could have called into question the results and why the state legislators were asking him to send them back. Pence could have washed his hands of it and said he would follow the states requests and send back for review.

To the leftoid, nothing has intrinsic legitimacy. Not the constitution, not laws, not courts, not law enforcement, not elections. The only thing that has legitimacy to them is whatever furthers the left’s ends.

They study it only as a means to figure out how to best dismantle it.
