Heard a CIA guy on CNN of all places say he doesn't think we can rule Turkey out as trying to frame the Saudis.

Mr. MBS to you duggie. And in the words of Eddie Murphy "Shut up before I hit you with my wallet".
Seriously, this thing stinks worse than a south Georgia chicken farm. Unless our fbi is involved, they are stupid enough to do something this ignorant.

I'm still very perplexed why we (the USA) care.
The USA should always care when a US resident-journalist gets chopped up abroad, even more so when a “friendly” government is to blame.

Resident or citizen?
I have to be honest. If you are a supporter of the MB and go into that region from the US, I don't have any sympathy for either one.

Typical liberal creating new moral barometers to align the current news cycle with advancement of the party.
Nicely done comrade.

The moral barometers the US have hypocritically adhered to you mean? Do you want a list ( beginning with Cuba) of the Countries under US sanctions for human rights violations?

Why are we upset that MBS eliminated a troublemaker for him and his government? Khashoggi was not some "journalist" he was a political player as well with deep , if not active sympathies for the Muslim Brotherhood who want to overthrow the Saudi Government.

Hope they processed him in a Halal manner

Why did the Saudis fund MB for most of its history, up until 1991, if MB was bad for business?
People are giving MB a supranational organization that it straight up does not have. Regardless, membership or association in MB is no reason for killing a dissident, who wasn't even all that critical.

Who knows, but he must have pissed off the wrong people. High profile people like Khashoggi don't get whacked and processed just for writing things in the WaPo......he broke a deal most probably and it was a deal that in hindsight he could ill afford to walk back on.
To paraphrase Henry Hill in Goodfellas " It's real towelhead shite'

We could also argue that his death is the result of MBS's impulsiveness and complete incompetence, as he's shown repeatedly with regards to Yemen, Qatar, and Lebanon. He suffered no consequences for any of his myopic antics, and figured he would suffer no consequences for killing Khashoggi. And ultimately he won't.
