but my own firsthand observation is that literally everyone I know personally who joined was a deformed weirdo who took part in ROTC to get out of gym and then joined the military, guys who just wanted a free education, or tatted up dykey women who also wanted free shite. I've literally never met a military member that has any business serving.
Obviously then, literally everyone you know personally who joined is not very many people.

Embark on a carrier cruise and you'll soon find that's not exactly the case. Lots of attitude.

Most of your "women and people of color" in the military are the antithesis of conservative. You'd be surprised how many SJW's and soy boys are in the military these days.
Not nearly as many as you think. Many of them that come from the most racist areas of the country (Northeast, Southern California) are shocked when they interact with those who were raised differently from them and are even more shocked when they understand how much of their income is stolen by their state governments.

When you haven't served yourself, the bold part loses any credibility.

Most malcontents get weeded out pretty quickly. Most of the ones that come from shite civilian lives all pretty much understand the deal and do their jobs. The ones just there for a check have just as miserable an existence as they had from wherever they came from. There's absolutely no place to hide on the boat.

It requires having a sense of patriotism and a good level of testosterone.

God damn, I hate dumbass civilian takes on the military.

You mean the actual reality that I’ve observed with about a dozen or so people? Pretty big sample size from a small town in Louisiana. Your army isn’t what it used to be, don’t blame me lol

I was a fifth generation who served 12 years and my oldest son served 10 years. It was a family tradition of God, Country and Family. I would gladly serve again at 50 years old if my country needed me. I wrote that check to this country for my life if needed. I would do it again because I love this country.

WOW. A whole DOZEN. That's a whopping 0.001% or more. Definitely a damning indictment on all who serve and ever have served

Which is why Democrats have a hard-on for LOWERING military standards for recruitment and physical training standards
That's a myth. My husband recruited in the Marine Corps and Obama made it more difficult for people to qualify. Many factors, not just physical fitness.
We need to look into why high schools are not requiring kids to take PE after 10th grade. That's where your problem is. The kids are soft.

Did you miss that part? You'd think if a dozen people from a small population area joined the military, at least one would fit the high T, patriotic, sense of duty to country ideal that I think we both agree should be the standard. But when they're all soft, that doesn't paint a good picture about the type of people who are joining nowadays. You can get argumentative about it all you want. I'm not happy that's what I've observed, but it's a sad reality.

Obama didn't set those standards, Congress did.
DoD sets the standards based on the service caps Congress places on them.

Forgot to put in my last response but I fully believe that the guys who served decades ago were conservative, respectable guys. Very different from who's signing up in 2020

It paints a bad picture on YOUR SMALL TOWN IN LOUISIANA.
Recruiters find people with the potential for honorable service, Drill Sergeants and Drill Instructors form them into Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, and their units, leaders form them using what they have to work with.

If you have a chance to travel outside the USA you gain first hand experience on what liberal filth does to countries and how the progressive ways destroy everything it touches. Our soldiers get to see the white hole countries and the result of liberalism.
Anyone that believes America is anything but the shining light in the world has never been anywhere else.

I've been in over 20 years now across 10 PCS moves, 4 deployments and 10 different duty stations, including 4 countries.
The number of Soldiers I have met that should have never been recruited or trained numbered less than 100, half of them I encouraged not to ship to basic while I was a Recruiting Commander.
I think my aperture is a bit larger than 12 people from some backwater town in Louisiana.
