Something occurred to me this morning, that I haven't seen expressly stated anywhere else. I'm sure it has, I just haven't run across it, personally.
This is the first Presidential election cycle that hasn't gone liberals' way in the modern era of social media. When Obama was first elected in 2008, wasn't it Ashton Kutcher who was racing to set a record of being the first person on Twitter to notch a million followers? Now it's not uncommon for folks to have 25M+ followers.
In the intervening years, we have people who have become renowned just for doing makeup, hitting golf balls at a driving range or just working out and having a tight arse.
Most of your rioters, protesters and overall sandy-vag Facebook complainers honest-to-God think that each of the Kardashian family are legit A-list celebrities. They can't buy an overpriced cup of coffee at Starbucks or order a meal or open a bottle of Sriracha without documenting the event on Instagram.
And then they wait. Much like that episode of Black Mirror, they wait and live and breathe for the fake Internet points to roll in from strangers. Usually, they get their points and their feel goods from what they put out there, but it didn't happen last week, and they can't deal with it.
They were pleased as punch to toss out an #ImwithHer on every fricking inane post imaginable, and instead of the whole world making them feel special about their half-caf, no foam, pumpkin spice wussichino that they bought in the voting booth, they were told nobody cares. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.
Even more so, the right half of the country said, "frick off. We prefer coffee-flavored coffee."
TL;DR - They can't even.
They literally can't even.

That is a very astute observation and an accurate assessment of the situation brother.

Damn, I just realized after reading the OP that I missed an opportunity to sell trophies to the Lee Circle demonstrators.
I'm sure they could have ponied up $10 a pop to memorialize how they were part of the "Great Spray Paint" Revolution of 2016.
They do get a trophy, don't they?

Living in an echo chamber and ignoring other views has made them into unequivocal LOSERS. They mad.

Interesting sociological perspective.
Can't say I disagree.
This election was the Facebook status update that they spent the entire evening crafting to perfection.
...and then they only got 2 likes.

That's an excellent, succinct analogy. Fake Internet points to you, sir!

And, that's why they lost. They were unable to create anything memetic to match Crooked Hillary.

Well, this is adorable.

Your ineffectual drive by snipes bring nothing to this board and unfortunately are the pinnacle of your contributions.

Why even weigh in if you're literally contributing nothing to the conversation?

The guy who says liberals are losers because they live in an echo chamber and ignore other views, while in an echo chamber ignoring other views, is adorable.
How would you like for me to address this thread? Argue with the OP that the Kardashian's are a-list celebrities? Argue that it's hilarious that he thinks liberals, by and large, are protesting because they didn't get likes from what they put out there?

If people were curious, yes. Unfortunately...

Well, as the OP, I think it's pretty clear that my overarching point that there's a giant swath of the population who has gotten used to being able to have a global audience for their glittering opinions. Some have even found a way to make a living off of chewing the scenery of life, but for the first time in many of their lives, they're discovering that "repudiation", "apoplectic" and "schadenfreude" are more than just SAT prep words.
It's not even just Millennials, either. There's a chunk of Boomers and GenXers in that crowd who's wailing, gnashing their teeth, rending their clothing and heaping ashes on their heads - all because they lost. They didn't get their way.
This is the net effect of participation trophies and not keeping score in ball games. There are millions of adults who have no coping mechanism.

You'd have to give them all a trophy. Even the ones who may have accidently sprayed painted themselves and the ones who never figured out how to make the spray can operate.

Very accurate.
Reminds me of the week after the Alabama vs LSU game. So many whiny arse fans blaming this thing and that. It was embarrassing really.

The good news is that at least on a personal, anecdotal level, the discussion is getting more civil. At least it appears to be moving that way in my own, personal monkeysphere. The 60M interview yesterday where he said that same sex marriage was an issue already reviewed and decided by the SCOTUS should go a long way to taking that particular arrow out of the Left's quiver, too.
