I can't answer your question because that's not my take. But I included it as an option because some publicly-known people have espoused this mindset. Sadly, Lindsey Graham has been one of the people saying this. I think he'll back off from it, though, because he's running for reelection next year. Lindsey can't afford to be on the wrong side of this.
