Was it when Hillary and the libs launched a war against a cartoon frog?
Are any libs man enough to admit they are embarrassed by that entire ordeal?
Anyone that agrees that a cartoon frog is racist and a nazi symbol should be the litmus test for being shunned from society.

I honestly don't even know what the alt right is.

it's been different things to different people across time, but right now there isn't really a distance b/w white supremacists and the alt-right

As soon as the liberal elite realized they needed a boogeyman to rally the base against Trump.

Oh okay. When I first heard the term and I listened to their views they sounded like nationalists, and I don't think nationalism is necessarily a bad thing.
It becomes bad when you restrict it to a certain race obviously, which apparently seems to be the case for them.

Spike in August = Hillary speech on alt-right and Pepe
Spike in September = Pepe being declared a hate symbol
Spike in November = Spencer rally in DC
Spike in January = Richard Spencer getting punched
how to create a boogeyman and amplify their presence

Probably when the Steve Bannon became Trump's campaign manager.

In the leftist mind, that is.

no in reality
alt-right = beliefs based in race above all else
alt-lite = beliefs based in culture, not race

The beauty of creating a new term like "alt-right" out of thin air is that nobody knows what it really means. The liberal elite, through their propaganda arm the MSM, can then define alt-right over time to represent every boogeyman that their base should fear.

Who actually self-identifies as alt-right?

You're the one who doesn't know what the Alt-Right is. Listen to Richard Spencer, Jared Taylor, and Vick Day on what the Alt-Right is. It doesn't mean you like frog memes.
