Literally every candidate this year in Missouri, running for office representing St.Louis Metro has no party, no party emblem, etc on their mailers or signs.
They doing this in ur neck of the woods? There was always a donkey, elephant, or party affiliation on them.
I just received 2 mailers for people running for office, and nothing on their mailer said what party or who they represented. My wife checked and told me they were Liberal candidates and i told her, trash can, immediately.

There was a woman in Auburn a couple of years ago running for Alabama house seat. On her yard signs she had a picture of a goat. I asked her opponent, the incumbent, if she was a devil worshiper. He laughed and said no she just has a goat that lives with her in her house.

Closet democrats, they're too ashamed of their party &/or know it will cost them votes.
Same thing happened here with a man running for state representative right after or during the Kavanaugh witch hunt.
He promised that he wouldn't be like them, he wanted to meet with me and talk about his ideas....I flatly rejected him.
He ran again as a Republican.

Democrat is a very nasty word this election!
When I get an unidentifiable party flyer, I know they are Democrats and put them directly on my do not vote for list.
