As ruthless as the cartels can be they don’t have near the technology the Marines have access to. You’d be looking at a lot of dead Mexicans with shocked looks on their faces.

They'd act tough for the first 3 days and get rekt. After that they would only engage from max range and try to ambush. Resort to blending in and using women/children/churches for cover. Same shite dif sandbox.

If it were General Anti this is how it would go. Not one US Marine would set foot in Mexico. They and US Army troops would all be on our side of the border, closing it.
No one crosses. Nothing crosses. No remittances. No cargo. The troops would seal it off.
The cartels would be out of business because they could do no business. The bad guys on our side of the border get rounded up and kicked out, and we fight this war dug in on our side of the border, in the ports airports and wherever we have to for as long as we have to, until we choke the bastards out..
