What words mean: full semi-automatic assault rifle

There is no difference between this:
full semi-automatic assault rifle
And this:
semi-automatic rifle
Zero difference.
The purpose of the additional words is to add feelings of menace and fear when thinking about an inanimate object.

They'll come for our assault knives next.

I think it's more about changing the narrative for the future.
Five years and half a dozen school shootings later we will be debating banning fully semi automatic weapons.

Yeah, it is about the narrative. The media / anti 2A people want to talk about irrelevant details and gun people are more than excited to waste their time talking about various firing mechanisms, modes, and definitions (such as "assault rifle"), instead of the real issues (property rights, due process, 2A).
It's worked like a charm. Now we have a GOP POTUS, supported by 90% of gun owners, who openly talks about gun control while everyone just makes excuses for him.

Yeah, it's crazy. He's anti market, pro gun control, and I hear how great he is every day.
Before you know it, he will have turned hardcore GOPers into NY democrats!

I'm oversimplifying. If the meaningless words can be used to split off an artificial category of guns that are demonized, then the task of banning a subset of guns is made much easier. But again, the words are meaningless.
