I understand. I also understand that “it’s the economy, stupid” is as valid today as it was when Clinton ran in 1992. The American people are unhappy. They have been that way since the middle of Clinton’s term. Whoever is in power will suffer from that unhappiness. If Trump wants to avoid that he needs to deliver an economic boom in which people sense that their lives are becoming more affordable. That’s a tall order.

Had Trump not abandoned Minneapolis he would be in much worse shape. That’s why he did it. I hope he does regime change in Iran. With Russia weakened as they are, this is a rare opportunity to get that part of the world almost completely fixed.
