In the past when I've gotten the ashes on my forehead I would feel ashamed to go out in public. I know longer do that. I fight that temptation. Jesus says if you're ashamed of Me then I'm ashamed of you. To me it's a symbol of humility. Remember that you are ashes and to ashes you shall return.

yes I know yesterday was Ash Wednesday but this seems to be the first year that I have seen like everyone in the media with it.

We have this thread around this time literally every year. News cycles are fast and furious so things are easy to forget, but prominent media has always had the ash foreheads on Ash Wednesday for as far back as I can remember.

For all its issues with people in the Catholic faith it was the first denomination of Christianity so I don’t think fake is correct

So that rules out Wednesday night church, Christmas Eve services and Good Friday services?
The elders can call a service whenever they believe is good for the congregation. I'm talking about holy days, not church services, per se.

Holy days are days that are considered more special or "holy" than other days and should be treated differently with a holy reverence and obedience to the day. The Christian Sabbath, which is called The Lord's Day, is the only such commanded "holy day" for the Christian Church.

Ah... gotcha. I mistakenly (my fault, I admit) thought you were saying there was one day per week for corporate worship. Sorry to have misconstrued what you said.

"Catholicism is like the "fake Christianity"?

Are you talking about the One, True Church established by Jesus 2000 years ago? The exact same Church that approximately 45,000 denominations of Protestants base about 95% their beliefs on? The Church that 1600 years ago examined existing scriptures and applied four tests to see if they should be selected for what we now call the Bible? The same Bible which I assume critics like you use?

Assuming you are Protestant, isn't is ironic that you use the Catholic written Bible to lead you to eternal salvation? If Catholics are "fake Christianity", do you still think it is wise to use their "fake Bible"?

I don't like this debate by Catholics and Protestants for we are all are brothers and sisters in Jesus. Yet, it is ashamed that someone like Bigbro24 who probably belongs to a denomination of (how many? 100,000, 500,000 3,000,000) has the audacity to label 1.2 billion Catholics world wide as "fake Christianity".

Sir, you can do better.

We don't. We took out the fake books and it's no longer fake.

Where did the one or ones who decided to take out the books get their authority?

How did they decide they were fake?

What made them more expert than the Fathers of the Church that put the canon of the Bible together?

What tests or criterion did they use?
