So, you think people will continue to do the 7-12 years necessary AFTER undergrad to complete med school/residency/fellowships if they are making half the current amount? Dumb, dumb, dumb. Besides, even if you made doctors work for free, it wouldn’t be any sort of significant money in the big picture of medical spending in this country.

It’s a myth that the Chinese are so much healthier than us. Almost everyone there smokes and combined with massive pollution they have high rates of cancer and respiratory issues. The rate of diabetes is estimated to be higher as well as they have a high carb diet based on rice and a genetic predisposition. They just don’t get treated for it.
