the problem we have found from DOGE is the excess of government spending and no way of tracking it.
Yup. That has to stop now.
I'm tracked like a hawk, and anyone working in government needs to be tracked the same, whether or not they're WFH. Those are our tax dollars.

I have a couple friends who do case work for the VA and their performance is monitored closely, telework or not. Same standard should apply.

It astounds me the ignorance some of you have about people who WFM.
Are there bad apples out there that abuse the privilege? Sure. I'm not one of them.
Dude, no one is being ignorant and talking about people like you, who have been doing it for so long. Stop taking it so personally.
If you need to get upset, get upset with the people who took advantage of it when the govt forced companies into it. That's who people are talking about.

I was responding specifically to the user who posted this comment:
Obviously, an idiot who doesn't understand that being a project manager doesn't always mean hanging out at a construction site.
He wasn't attaching any timeframe to it, or any parameters what-so-ever. He made a blanket statement that exposed his ignorance. It needed correcting.

It literally makes no sense why anyone would give a shite how anyone they don't know, never interact with, and aren't even coworkers with does a job that has absolutely nothing to do with them
You mean the people whose salary we are paying?
I doubt anyone here cares what a private business does. We are talking about government employees. It literally makes no sense why anyone wouldn't give a shite about how their tax dollars are being spent.

Just for clarification-
When she made the first post she was working for a private company, not the govt.
She changed jobs on 1/1/25 and went to work for the federal government. So she was still in the probationary period and was let go.

wearing "jammies" all day until a teams meeting doesn't mean she wasn't working the rest of the day. I wear sweats all the time when i know i won't have to be on camera. i'm sorry you have to punch a clock
I’ve worked from home since March 2020 and I have enough pride to bust my arse eight hours plus a day for that paycheck. The private sector company I work for can track my laptop time, if they need to…not a government job. I attend on-camera Zoom meetings at least three times a week. I’ve worn shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops for almost five years and my boss knows it…that’s acceptable business casual attire for us.
Undoubtedly, that girl was obnoxiously bragging online about her government work situation. Karma got her.
EDIT - For date…March 17, COVID year St Patty’s Day.

I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts most of the time; sometime "jammies" if it's cold. I'm not gaming my employer either as I own 45% of the company I work for.
There is a big difference between regular employee and ownership work ethic.
When I owned 100% I worked my arse off, doing everything I need to do, no set work hrs.
After I merged with and started new company, but still had ownership and exec/leadership, I worked hard but slacked off the work load, was done by 5.
When we flipped it to an ESOP, I became a regular employee, didn’t put in anything extra. Not my company anymore. I became so bored and lazy I retired after a year.
Your attitude is different. Ownership me would have fired ESOP me if I had known what a slacker I had become.

This the same chick that was working her dream job for the Children's Bureau? An entity supposedly dedicated to serving the most vulnerable and at risk among us? I did not know she felt that way about Safe Haven laws... So, an allegedly crappy work ethic and a self spoken disregard for those she 'worked' for. I am glad she's gone.
Different handle. Probably just another blonde.
