If you all are waiting for or thinking a band of conservatives are going to ride in and save us, I have some bad news for you. Republicans and “conservatives” aren’t conservative b/c they need dependents/victims to “save” via gov spending and reg just like the dems. It’s basically WWE in suits.

Agree, I’d reckon could wrap it up by saying voters aren’t very conservative either.

I agree.

People learned to accept central planning. This is a good example of it. But voting for more populism is the opposite way to make a group more conservative.

If it takes democrats having slim majorities in the house & senate, so be it. The pain will be worth it if it leads to true representation.

What brand of Simpleton Dolt Logic is this?

The pain you refer to is our country being murdered by communist ideologues in Washington, D.C.

True representation is an illusion. If you can't pick up the phone and speak to your representative or his/her Chief of Staff personally, you have no political say or influence. Nothing new here.

MAGA is rebranded Progressive class warfare.

Their natural home is left of center.

We are well past time, historically, for a new party to rise up and replace one or the other.

Oh okay, so we should vote for whom?

Which political leader is the perfect fit for the GOP?

which leader talks about closing the border?

which leader talks about the swamp and deep state?

which leader talks about the fake news?

which leader talks about the corruption and "I am only running because this country is about to fall like a house of cards"

which leader talks about ending endless wars?

which leader believes in the big stick but really doesn't like war or death and says "it's better to get along than not get along"....referring to foreiegn leaders?

2001-2024

quote:

Currently, the United States is experiencing an unusual and concerning phenomenon — the annual deficit is high even though the unemployment rate is low.

A low unemployment rate usually signals a healthy economy, contributing to conditions that encourage lower deficits. When the unemployment rate is low, the federal government’s balance sheet benefits in two ways. First, more people are working so the federal government spends less money on relief programs known as automatic stabilizers, such as unemployment insurance, Medicaid, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Second, the federal government collects more money from taxes due to higher payrolls. Lower spending on automatic stabilizers paired with higher revenues as more people are employed should generate lower deficits.

That relationship is not in effect today. In 2023, the unemployment rate averaged 3.6 percent, well below its 50-year average of 6.2 percent. However, the deficit last year was 6.3 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), significantly above its 50-year average of 3.7 percent. The average deficit when the unemployment rate was low (defined as below 6 percent) between 1970 and 2022 was 1.9 percent of GDP.

We are at full employment, still pushing economic growth through debt.

Are you going to run for the chairmanship of that party? Somebody has to do it.
