We should create a national database for background checks

It should be run by the FBI and instantly check to make sure people who fit any of the following criteria can't buy guns:
-Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
-Is under indictment for a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
-Is a fugitive from justice;
-Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
-Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or committed to a mental institution;
-Is illegally or unlawfully in the United States;
-Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
-Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced U.S. citizenship;
-Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner;
-Has been convicted in any court of a "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence", a defined term in 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(33)
And we should call it something like the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. Why can't people get on board with this?

Move to North Korea if you want to live in a police state.

Because all throughout history authoritarian governments started disarming their citizens first by background checks and registrations lists then used those lists to confiscate after orchestrating a false flag incident as an excuse to take them.

We should eliminate the background check system entirely.
What other Constitutional right do you thinks we should seek government approval before exercising?

We have one called NCIC run by FBI and ATF. Every lawful gun sale has to go through it. Even ones at gun shows. Exceptions are person to person sales. However if you sold a gun to someone who could not get a gun otherwise you could be in deep shite. The reason this happened was the lack of action by the school system, local law enforcement and the FBI. Some blame also belong to the family he lived with.

National Instant Criminal Background Check System (aka NICS)
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is a United States system for determining if prospective firearms or explosives buyers' name and birth year match those of a person who is not eligible to buy. It was mandated by the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (Brady Law) of 1993 and launched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 1998.

I love the OP as a troll, and I hate to ruin it by discussing it seriously, but there needs to be some improvements to the system.
1) Some law enforcement agencies are not inputting the data on arrests and convictions.
Some rural agencies (I’m looking at you Tangipahoa!) are extremely behind the times technologically. Some jurisdictions have bought into the “remove the stigma” rhetoric too much, and have simply chosen to limit access to conviction information.
There are just too many gaps in the front end of the system. This needs to be addressed.
2) There has not been a significant push on the mental health side to get this information into the system. I don’t even know who has the authority to tell the FBI to put that info into the database. Psychiatrists? (With or without a court order?); School Boards? This is probably the biggest area that needs to be addressed.
