I keep seeing people say that, but I've yet to find the video of him saying that. I know when the rangers got to the scene they found lots of 7.62 casings, but very little 5.56, which seems to me that the ambush was quick and the fight didn't last very long.

I’ve been listening to a ton of Jocko and it’s pretty incredible how much of the accounts of Ramadi line up. He’s had everyone from Army and Marines that served alongside his seal task unit on up to Gen Macfarland and pretty much everyone tells the same tale and if anything downplays their role.
It’s actually pretty incredible the number of first class Americans that crossed paths with Jocko in that desert. If you’ve never heard of Jonny Kim, he’s a SEAL corpsman turned Harvard educated Doctor turned naval aviator turned nasa astronaut and is currently on the ISS.
