Seeing how the LBJ thread has (predictably) devolved into personal insults, I’d like to hear some opinions (especially from the left) re the cause of declines in black marriage rates.
What was the cause of black marriage rates going from marginally highest in the country prior to 1970 to where they are now? Black Demographics

Was this the intention of the Govt/CIA thru flooding inner cities w drugs?
Was it simply to raise money for covert ops? Was it all a plan to keep minorities in a constant state of poverty, and what would this achieve?

Keeping blacks as dependent on government as possible has been the corner stone of the Democratic party's election strategy for 60 years now.

Once the Democrats realized they could win over generations of sheep voters, they put their plans into action. They stole credit for civil rights, then proceeded to make as many people as dependant on government as possible.

The collapse of the black family is the worst thing that has happened since slavery and even then had a strong family units, yet not one politician or black leader ever acknowledges it.

Well, take a look at the voting patterns of the black population since the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Although more Republicans voted for it, the Dems got credit for it because of that POS LBJ.

His infamous words:
quote:

Lyndon Baines Johnson 1963... "These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference... I'll have them naggers voting Democratic for the next two hundred years".
That was and continues to be the Democratic strategy.

"Keep them poor, uneducated and dependent on the government for their existence, and we'll keep their vote."

Hey, White families break up all the time too. Kids need dads in the home, not just Dad's money.

Yes. The government public housing projects were to blacks as the reservations were to the Indians.

Alan West does, Tim Scott does, numerous conservative black preachers do. Hell,
Even Ice T and LL Cool J do. They don't get acknowledged by the media tho, because they don't want black people to realize they've been fooled.

There's billions of dollars invested in keeping the plantation running.

I firmly believe it is the equivalent of slavery, only in the modern sense. Rather than control by force, it's control by coercion.

The mentality of the master is always the same. They keep their slaves affiliated w/ the group rather than allowing them to be individuals. They kept them from allowing them to learn how to read & write. Why? So they wouldn't think. Same thing today, just a different flavor.

And before I'm called a racist, white trash are on the dependency train too w/ muh disability & failure to marry as well. It isn't racial slavery, it's cultural.

Yes. Social Programs for the poor especially the welfare program "Aid to Families with Dependent Children" destroyed the traditional black family. The result of this profoundly misguided program was families headed by single mothers on welfare with children fathered by multiple men. Furthermore, the taxpayers were burdened with providing care, in many cases, to generations of welfare moms and kids. Many of the sons and daughters of these welfare families are now wrecking havoc in our inner cities. Along with this was a HUGE increase in the number (110 million) of folks infected with more virulent cases of STD's. Our current population is around 323 million. You do the math.

IMO the entity that benefited most from this destruction of black families is the democrat party. The party gained a permanent class of voters. Democrat operatives like Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee now exploit the party's advantage in the black community by blaming the Republican Party for the poverty in the black community. IMO the fear that haunts the democrat party centers around the very real possibility a significant portion of the black electorate will abandon the party and support DJT in 2020. I firmly believe this is one of the factors driving efforts to remove President Trump from office.

I go back to FDR. I saw the destruction of black families (and white as well) resulting from welfare programs authored by the social engineers in the Democrat Party and government. I will say without reservation what was done to the black families (and white as well) from the destruction by misguided welfare programs borders on criminal.

Thank God we have Donald J. Trump. A man who understands that nothing (no social program, no welfare) is a substitute for gainful employment in a decent job. His position on illegal immigration is driven by the same fear that haunts all working Americans (black and white). That fear being a flood of cheap labor will have the effect of driving down wages and stealing the hope for a decent life for all Americans.

MAGA!

So your graph shows that the drug war, has had a huge affect on black communities, obviously.

Families have been ripped apart and single mothers are dependent on Govt handouts to get by, and this has been going on for generations. This creates an expectation of Govt assistance beginning in early childhood that remains thru adulthood, in most cases.

Turning down free money just doesn’t usually make sense. If you want your SSID check vote for all the names with D’s. The R’s just stand for racist, sexists, and all others ___-ists. “They want to put y’all back in chains” and Kavanaugh could return us to the 1850s...
