Fear of a Bolshevik revolution happening in Germany did help garner support for the Nazis and other far right groups. Remember there had been an unsuccessful commie revolution in Germany led by Rosa Luxemburg. There were also many anti-communist Russian refugees in Germany who spoke of the horrors of the revolution
