Seems mathematically impossible. No matter how cheap you make the product or services you're providing there is still administrative costs associated with running the programs.

I'd much rather pay them cash than have bloated govt programs

There's has to be a mechanism to thwart dependency and promote independence however

The war on poverty should begin with a job application with the unemployment office. Then you are placed in a job. You either work or go hungry

Eventually when more jobs are automated this argument will be useless

At some point it won't be necessary for most people to be employed

Why isn’t neither a viable option?

Well since the absolute worst case scenario is reality I'm just offering up a less shitty version as a choice

So do I get free money too?

I now work for a living, but hey I'm open to options.

That's actually something I just mentioned

Under a system like the fair tax everyone gets a check as part of the prebate plan

That would probably make a lot more sense than having dozens of dumb arse programs run by dumb asses for dumb asses

Welfare systems are a joke . I think they should take money spent on welfare programs and just split it between all Citizens if they are not going to cancel it .

The best way to help people in poverty is to give them training for a better job .

Not saying this is all recipients but if they take heroin in trade can they get a discount or would you rather put them through the hassle of cashing a check and seeing their dealer?

Or just use it on infrastructure projects or something of the sort

It seems like lighting it on fire hasn't been working out very well for us

We should just kill the useless people and use their bodies for fertilizer.

Just need to incentivise gettign a job and actually saving. why work for min wage when you can get the same for free?

why save when they will cut off your benefits for having too much in savings?

the entire system is flawed. This is why poor trashy people spend their tax returns as soon as they get them.

let them keep a percent of the money once they get a job, slowly weening them off over a period of months, and give little bonuses for remaining employed if they still make under 30K.

give a larger bonus for landing a job making over 30K and a big CONGRATULATIONS YOU MADE IT package with resources for budgeting, money management, etc.

Don't make the family guidelines any less than 200% of the individual. if the individual standard is 30K but the family is 50K for cutoff.... mother frickers will stay separated on purpose. stupid women will leave their men just to get more benefits. Get them together being an actual family.

100 years ago the non motivated died and the motivated survived. We've got an incredibly large underclass of unmotivated people today kept alive by the government dime.

It's simply an assumption. I am willing to be wrong.
