With the undeniable fact that voter fraud has been found on a relatively large scale in Florida, it’s time to instill a national voter ID law. Would the Dems here have an issue with a free voter ID being issued similar to a social security card that you would be required to show when you vote? Is this racist? Will this “suppress the vote?”

Liberals will suddenly discover the right to be free from government intrusion.

I’m very curious how a free ID given to everyone will be claimed as disenfranchising minorities

Can I see said undeniable facts?

But to answer your question. Most civilized countries have a universal id given to all citizens. Why we don’t, I’ll never know.

Progs will tell you the people being arrested aren't real.

Second, voter ID is something they will NEVER bend on. Ever.

If you’re so worried about election integrity I’m assuming you’re ready to ditch gerrymandering, correct???

They can't go somewhere and pick up the IDs because it is too burdensome, many can't travel or make the times the places are open, and they may get arrested for crimes/support payments they are hiding from if forced to identify themsleves.

They can't get them mailed because many of them don't have a mailing address for many of the same above reasons and forcing them to identify themsleves and their location is even more oppressive and racist than asking them to show up somewhere.

Even the ones not hiding from anything are too poor and stupid to figure out how to get the ID cards.

There you go. I'd bet my left nut all of those arguments are used.

The answer to your question is a compromise. Give something to get something.

Sure I’m cool w voter ID but not for nothing. If you’re going to pretend voter ID is so important for honest and fair elections you can’t expect anyone to look the other way on something like gerrymandering.

Or how about automatic registration when you turn 18? I’d gladly support voter ID for auto registration. Rs can have their couple dozen votes and the Dems can have their couple million.

So you expect to get something in return for upholding the law of the land and ensuring only those allowed to vote are voting? Typical

Write your rep and make the pitch then. Dems would gladly make the trade.

Your smarter more strategic republican friends wouldn’t. I wonder why.....

You can clutch your pearls all you want. You’re not fooling anyone. Rs have one agenda, it’s not even a secret. Dems do too. What’s the upside to pretending to be ignorant about it???

I guess if “having an agenda” is stopping illegal immigrants, dead people, and multiple voters from influencing elections then yes we do.

It’s only a bad idea (for you) because it means more democratic votes (net). That’s literally the only reason you don’t like it.

Democrats abuse gerrymandering far more than Republicans. They'll never pass legislation against it.

In your opinion it is so difficult to register that democratic voters can't figure it out and that's why they don't vote?
