When you die, you can’t be taxed because you are dead. It don’t make one difference to you at that point whether your descendants get to live like little lords or if they all get guillotined. It’s all the same void to you

How many of that includes those that only pay capital gains?

It depends.

When there is no public debt, as little as possible.

When we're $32 trillion in debt, as much as possible without crashing the economy.

I'm not one of those ideologues that separates tax philosophy from fiscal conditions. When we're going deeper and deeper into debt is not the time to cut taxes like the last two Republicans did.

Again, think Vivek is an @ss clown. Also don't agree on any tax that high.

With that said, should we have a King and Queen of the U.S. like the U.k? The future Kings and Queeens inherit the power. They don't have to earn it.

If you answered no. Then why should we have people inherit "kingdoms"? They earned it not from work ethics and starting businesses while living the American dream, they inherited it, just like a King or Queen.

That does not mean take away all their inheritance, it just means that we have to have taxes and I'd rather someone who is given something for no work on their part pays a higher sum of tax --- AGAIN --- as long as it does not effect the great majority and especially those who have small businesses and farms.

The greatest thing the elite of this country did was somehow fooling conservatives to protecting their wealth.

The King of Thailand is an American citizen.

Does anyone know if he pays US taxes like he should per American law?

When they are misused and misspent, as they often are, they are penalties

Shocking.

I believe you.

You're free to give as much of your money away as you like, my guy. Literally NOTHING is stopping you. Why do you feel compelled to put your hand in others' pockets?

How about spending policy? Some of you folks seriously believe the U.S. is undertaxed? Particularly the wealthy quintiles and businesses?

Unfrickingbelieveable.

Can someone define what’s considered rich? I need to know if I’m a target of Vivek’s inheritance tax.

BassTiger, does it matter. It is the principal of the matter. Who cares if you are a target. You will be eventually because it will keep getting reduced and rich will be redefined to capture more money.

The govt has already taken it's tax out of the inheritance money multiple and multiple times. The family shouldn't be paying anymore taxes on it. It is not the Powerball that is a prize and needs to be taxed. It is money that was earned by a persons family and taxed many times.

You guys think the rich are taxed like you?

I can give you two examples:

Real Estate and Roth IRAs

There could be decades of growth that are never taxed by the IRS and then given to the children tax free at death.

Insurance products out there the middle class could never dream of having.

All kinds of loopholes and situations they use.
