I don't really care about this issue. If we're gonna normalize everyone else's sexual proclivities why the hell would this be a bridge too far

This is exactly the sentiment pedophiles and sexual deviants hoped would surface after pushing for gay marriage.

You may want to learn what a cult is.

My wife and my in-laws are members, and I will attend on occasion myself. I can tell you 100% there is no brainwashing going on in that church. Everything is based on free agency and free to choose whether you follow the faith or not. Your extreme bias is quite evident every time you do a thread about the Mormons. I can say you have been brainwashed in your beliefs of them.

Hate away though brother. I mean, that’s what Christ would do right?

I know exactly what a cult is, and Mormonism is a perfect example of it.
Founded by one man ( Joseph Smith, an immoral man at that ) who proclaimed to have a unique encounter with an angel, Moroni, who showed him secret tablets proclaiming an expanded truth beyond the Bible.
Joseph Smith’s own mother said he was a boy prone to lying and making up fanciful tales.
The Mormon men believe they can be God’s one day and inhabit their own planet, which they will seed with spiritual babies. They also teach that if their wives are not subservient to them on earth, they can be banished from this new planet in the afterlife.
The Mormon doctrine is full of unscriptural teachings of one man, and wether your brothers, sisters, mother or father belongs to it, is irrelevant to our discussion.

Jesus himself warned us to be wary of false teachers and its not hate to expose it.

I have no problem with it as long as underage girls aren’t invited

Good, it’s no one else’s business but the adults involved

Life would be very simple if this were true. Unfortunately, the actions of the individuals affect the whole.

One of the most offensive aspects of Mormon-based polygamy is the rampant practice of taking underage girls as polygamous wives. This is precisely what Brian David Mitchell did when he abducted Elizabeth Smart.

In the western United States, there are at least 30,000 people involved in the practice of Mormon-based polygamy. In these polygamous groups, the compulsion for underage girls to marry polygamists--usually men much older than themselves--is a part of everyday life. In these communities, girls as young as 12 or 13 are often married off to priesthood leaders.

The most powerful and influential of these priesthood holders have first pick of the girls. Parents of the young girls submit their daughters willingly into these unions with the hope of being blessed by God in their afterlife.

Smith married several underage girls himself. The most notorious example of this is in the case of Helen Mar Kimball. Young Helen married Smith in May, 1843. She was 14 years old; the same age as Elizabeth Smart was at the time of her abduction. Helen’s father, Heber Chase Kimball gave his daughter to Smith as a token of his unquestioning devotion. In return, Smith promised that this union would seal up the salvation of the Kimball family.

Why you would want more than one wife boggled my mind.

I sort of understand the allure of it, but that's all fantasy. The reality is - it is impossible to please just one woman, it's useless to even try.

Taking on the impossible challenge of 2, 3, 4 or more wives sounds utterly exhausting.

this is what happens when women find only 20% of men attractive, and women seem to be okay with it enough that they’re not touching the bottom 80%

Being honest here. I've never supported laws that prevent consenting adults from behaving how they wish in relationships.

NOTE: This does not mean I "support" polygamy. It simply means I do not support banning it.

Exactly.

With that said, can you imagine how brutal it’d be to have two wives? frick that.

If you’re going to legalize gay marriage, marrying animals, and tranny madness, heterosexual polygamy is but a little thing. This will be a growing trend as leftist courts seek to accommodate sharia compliant Muslims in addition to fundamentalist Mormons.

I’m guessing that Mohammed isn’t too worried about pleasing his property.

If the gays can marry, why not polygamists? Fair is fair.

This sounds remarkably like Islam with some tweaks...

Utah will be a haven for Muslims. The Mormons have no idea what they have done to themselves and to Utah.

Fixed.

Think about it, how many children could be produced in 10 years from a household with one wife and several husbands versus a household with one husband and several wives?
