Utah judge suspended without pay for 6 months after critical comments about Trump

quote:

Kwan violated the judicial code of conduct and lessened "the reputation of our entire judiciary," Justice John Pearce wrote in an opinion on Wednesday.

"Judge Kwan's behavior denigrates his reputation as an impartial, independent, dignified, and courteous jurist who takes no advantage of the office in which he serves," Pearce said.

The following month, he wrote: "Welcome to the beginning of the fascist takeover. . . We need to be diligent in questioning Congressional Republicans if they are going to be the American Reichstag and refuse to stand up for the Constitution."

Yeah right

Nothing like politicking from the bench. Way to go, Judge Kwan!

If only he had consulted a judge on the wisdom of using the bench to espouse his opinions.

She lost. Get over it.

Judges should strive to maintain (at least) the appearance of impartiality. Suspension was the right move, regardless of whether one agrees with the substance of his comments.

Six months? That's it?

As if this TDS a-hole is going to suddenly not be a TDS a-hole in six months.

I can't think of a single person who was afflicted with TDS that reformed and acknowledged they were wrong and no longer is afflicted.

There are people on this board who KNOW the Left attempted/is attempting a soft coup, and that Trump has not only done nothing at all wrong, but he's doing incredible things for this country in the face of overwhelming opposition and outrageously seditious obstruction, and yet they clearly still don't care and continue to act like it's justifiable and proper, with absolutely zero viable rationale actually justifying it.

There doesn't appear to be a cure for TDS. Six months isn't going to do shite other than make this judge not openly voice his TDS opinions any longer. It's not going to change his actions. He's going to continue basing all his decisions on extreme partisanship and bias.

They need to strip him of his judgeship and remove him from the bench.

And remove his law license = he knowingly committed a fraud from his bench on the court.
