My local USPS guys have always been pretty good... and my family loves our regular mail guy. But I suspect that's because the people that work at our local PO are like the rest of our community, and have a similar work ethic.

Nationwide, though, you can't deny the USPS has some big problems.

I do not believe that. please provide a source.

I bet this all comes down to negative effects from the union. We have a pandemic going on and the USPS can not operate appropriately because of the union.

Another example of this is how the teachers unions are trying to mess up the opening of schools.

A completely private business would not put up with this shite; however, the USPS and schools are more controlled by the unions as government jobs.

I think this is all on the local post offices and regional centers. I get medication from the VA USPS and UPS from Charleston to Savannah that takes 2 days every time for 2 years straight.

VA is having problems with USPS as well.

US Postal Service delays force Department of Veterans Affairs to shift prescription delivery methods

quote:

"The VA has now confirmed to us that the United States Postal Service (USPS), which is responsible for delivering about 90% of all VA mail order prescriptions, has indeed been delayed in delivering these critical medications by an average of almost 25% over the past year, with many locations experiencing much more significant delays," the group's national commander, Stephen Whitehead, said in a statement Monday.

"To help mitigate these postal delays, the VA has been forced to switch to alternative delivery services in a number of areas across the country and is taking other actions to expedite processing and delivery of prescriptions," Whitehead added.

Those areas include Detroit, parts of New York and New Jersey, which were identified as hotspots with delivery delays, according to the VA email to veterans group, which was reviewed by CNN.

The VA "proactively converted from USPS to United Parcel Service (UPS) 2nd day air for those areas until service levels could be returned," the email says. The department also identified a "delivery service issue with UPS in the Arizona area and converted to Fedex for roughly 5-weeks until service levels were restored with UPS," it adds.

She didn't say making "now".

We are talking the last 50 years here.

Maybe if Trump had put someone in charge of fixing the USPS instead of a campaign donor, things might be better?

Swamp.

He has a background in logistics. It also is maybe a good thing you don’t have someone who came up through the struggling USPS.

It really seems to be a union issue and people upset as he isn’t a long time USPS guy.

I'm gonna guess you're one of those idiots who complained about AG Barr being "hand picked" by Trump....

Nah its been a disaster. Remember a couple years ago in BR there was mail all over the ground? Like a ton of mail that either got dumped from a mail truck or fell off. It's been bad for a while.

I haven't seen any issues with USPS at all here in South AL. I also have Prime packages delivered almost daily and no issues there either.

I heard some leftist shill some time in the last couple of days going on and on about “how beloved” the post office was by the American people.

I thought to myself what reality does this person live in and then I remembered who it was that was talking. She was white knighting HARD for the USPS. It was quite humorous.

In other words: "Yes, Trump is a swamper. And I can't argue against that, because, well, hiring a large dollar donor to the GOP and Trump's campaign is what a swamp rat would do. But Trumps cock is too far down in my throat for me to criticize him, so I'll just try insults and ignorant statements. Yours truly, Oogabooga."

USPS - union slowdown. I am sure it will get worse as we get closer to November.
Fedex/UPS - no workers, didn't come back after shutdown. I suspect they get paid more by govt. The drivers are having to load trucks themselves. Dont leave depot until aftet 10am.

Since the panDEMic, the USPS is struggling to keep up with so many packages. Each facility has increased traffic by the thousands of packages. Also, half the USPS employees that are under 35 years old call in sick constantly. They are half staffed at almost all times. Not showing up for work is not frowned upon, it's standard practice.

This is the real story. I see it every night. The rest of the country is just paying attention now. Is it possible an employee here and there are “walking slower”? Yeah. But if you knew many of these you wouldn’t give them the credit for a massive, co-ordinated anything. A locked down country is mail ordering a ton more and we can’t get the kids to come to work.
