"The New York Times found 17 American service members and seven Iraqi police officers who were exposed to nerve or mustard agents after 2003. American officials said that the actual tally of exposed troops was slightly higher, but that the government’s official count was classified."
I have been friends with two people who told me this a long time ago. They did not know each other or speak of being in the same places when they were "exposed". Both have no reason to lie, and I can say that one even told me he was discharged for shooting at a building that turned out to be a mosque. He told me that a bunch of guys (including himself) all felt like they got heavily maced in the presidential palace, and they all went to the doctor for a couple of days afterward
