He absolutely did and will continue to do so.
The reality of the situation as POTUS is a lot more complicated than when running for office and promising "a chicken in every pot."

Their economy isn't collapsing. Their population is but not their economy

A big buyer can make or break a supplier, our President mastered this technique years ago.
Imagine a service provider that has a bunch of smaller customers, but one customer accounts for 30% of the revenue/business.
Now imagine that service provider has been fudging their annual reports and are actually barely in the black (if at all).
Now imagine that whale customer decides to take all of its business either in-house, or to a competitor.
That remaining 70% customer base will not be able to make up that difference (or anything close to it).
Hard times ahead, and likely bankruptcy.

What? They are in a deep recession right now. Tariffs and the U.S. creating barriers for trade is going to exponentially add to the pain. I don’t know if I’d claim their economy collapsing, but it’s pretty close.

One week of enhanced tariffs isnt breaking a countries economy.
Chinas economy is already doomed due to past practices.

None of this matters. We’ve turned the whole world against us unnecessarily. That’s what will kill our economy. It was so avoidable.
"We've turned the whole world against us," by not allowing ourselves to be fleeced in one-sided, unfair trade deals that penalize the U.S. and disproportionately benefit the other countries, like China?
Well, if that's what turned the whole world against us, then frick em'.

That's good. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. Trump's goal should be the total destruction of the Chinese economy.

I dont believe this is true, but it does raise questions we have all wondered. How do we know the true state of the Chinrse economy. I mean there is no way anyone should trust figures put out by them, right?

Businesses both large and small tell CNBC that the latest round of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, targeting countries all over the world and taking the trade levies up to the highest rates in a century, could result in freight being abandoned at ports as cash-strapped owners and CEOs reject incoming goods that could financially wipe them out.
They are and will continue to be abandoned at port, btw CNBC is not exactly a friend to Trump.
