Imagine thinking we don’t still have hundreds of troops in Iraq policing meaningless borders with Syria that were drawn with rulers in the 1920’s, or policing 3rd century tribal scum while inducing them to cause problems for other tribal scum.
No, we didn’t leave Iraq. We just moved most of our expensive stuff out of Iraq. But hey, it’s better than our “withdrawal” from Afghanistan.
