The absolute overreaction by progs is unbelievable. ALL, and that means ALL, are welcome in the United Methodist Church. No one should ever feel unsafe or unloved because of this decision.
All it does it reaffirm the church's long-held belief that homosexuality is incompatible with biblical teaching, just like every other sin out there. If I'm welcome in the UMC, then everyone else is, because your sin is no worse than mine.
The fact that the progs are spreading the lie that gays are unwelcome, and even possibly hated, in the UMC just because gays can't be ordained clergy shows where their hearts are in this debate. They are more concerned about pushing the "gay is normal" agenda than helping the church to heal from this.
Again, I say there are denominations out there who want gay clergy and make ministering to gays one of their top priorities. Gay Methodist clergy should seriously consider going to one of those churches, and I, for one, will not hold it against them if they do. They would be better served going to a church that already reflects their beliefs than trying to change one that doesn't.

Truth.
Leftism soils and then destroys everything it touches. Nothing is sacred. Beliefs contrary to leftism are racist, bigoted, homophobic, transphobic, shuffle deck, insert card ad infinitum. We are watching it play out in real time with the UMC.
The American thing to do is for all these leftist Methodists to form their own church organization and practice their religious beliefs however they see fit. Nobody would stop them. Thus is the beauty of our country.
The anti-American, Bolshevik thing to do is to infiltrate and then either take over and flip the script on the conservatives or to rip the church organization apart. I hope the UMC kicks all these church clergy and their churches out of the organization and stand firm in the face of this coup.
