until I started running large construction projects and seeing exactly what a journeyman electrician or welder could do and how much real knowledge they had. I've seen journeymen provide solutions to issues that had the design engineers stumped.

It's also about craftsmanship. The non-union electrician will run the conduit, but the IBEW wireman will make sure every bend in every offset is perfectly matched up to the conduit laid before.

Myself and the 8 I know working every day including the super for Trump. It’s actually a joke when Harris comes up.

How dumb are you? You are apparently not a member of the union. The delegates arent voting for the membership because they don’t come around to ask what our opinions are, they vote the way they are told to vote in an effort to move up the ladder. But hey, keep thinking the way you do.

Thanks. There’s been some beer flowing but I’m glad you see the point.

I’m for American jobs. First and foremost. Whether union member or non union members get the work.

I actually look for union made first then only American when buying products. Not an easy task and yes I will pay more.

I have to admit, seeing conduit running in perfect rows for hundreds of feet beneath the deck of a large building is like looking at the smoke trails of the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds. It's impressive and truly a thing of beauty.

Maybe read a book and have some respect for people that actually unionized to make your life better today.

Union workers are generally middle class, family oriented folks that do the work that keeps this country rolling.

There was absolutely a time and place when unions were very needed in this country. Pay, benefits, work conditions, and especially job safety were very lacking.

However, that time has long since been past. There are enough safety and labor laws in place now to protect the workers. And the free market system should regulate pay. All unions do now is artificially drive up wages beyond what they should be which causes businesses to have to charge way more for their goods and services.

OK sure. IBEW wasn't so hot back in the 80s and 90s.

So my dad and friend and parents of friends and multiple acquaintances from those multiple unions were and are trolling me? Sure. Unions, including IBEW are there to protect the subpar workers. It is the number one complaint from all of them.

Because they vote for the local as a whole, not individual members. Members make up the local. If you want your voice heard go to the local meeting.
And if the delegates don’t vote the way the locals membership want, that would be a very big deal and they wouldn’t be a delegate again

Good night are you ignorant and seem to be into conspiracy theories

You have missed the point…

Fight people who believe in fair wage, faith and family.

I don’t want to be over paid. I want fair pay for my wage. I also worry about attacks on my faith and my family. But if you think I should vote for Harris because I’m a union member…

First off, for money in the coffers to be given to any one… they have to be voted on by the member body at the meetings. That goes for the moneY we give to political campaigns, toys for tots type donations etc…

There is still a huge place for unions in different sectors. Warehouse workers (aka Amazon) want to unionize, but they can't. Companies have a lot more power today when it comes to union collective bargaining agreements. Unions that are established already are great, but it is extremely difficult for new unions to pop up for different industries that DO need it still.

Why do you think you should be able to destroy the lives of others just because you don't get your way? I remember when the Delta pilots were on the verge of striking. It would have killed the entire company. I was on the phone with a representative to make a ticket change and she couldn't hold the tears back from the fear of losing her livelihood if the pilots decided to take everyone else down with them. If you're unhappy with your job, there are plenty of others. Not to mention your union just keeps the worst of people employed.

I’m not a pro union guy but the different sectors have different type of people working in them. The members aren’t going to share all the same politics.

we really don't need unions now. The days of 100 yrs ago are over. Unions have protected the bad workers and even promoted them bc they paid "dues".

That is delusional to think they are not needed today. There are many reasons they are still needed. Bad workers exist no matter if unions are around or not.

On the bright side, it would ruin Amazon and bring in more competition from companies that don’t have to deal with unions….yet.

On the shite side, I use Amazon a lot and I don’t want that to ruin the great prices and experience I get from Amazon.

Realistically, those disgruntled Amazon employees should find another job.
