It’s possible for this statistic to be true but also misleading at the same time. The pool of people who are actively looking for work and unable to find work is very low. There is a shortage of skilled laborers in every industry. However, the pool of people of working age who do not work for various reasons (like disability recipients) is extremely high. So, we have a smaller percentage of people willing to work who are having to pull an ever expanding number of people who are content to live off of government benefits.
