Understanding why some of the tax cuts 'expire' - Get Educated

The media's talking points about 'expiring' tax cuts are crap. It's not the Republicans that are forcing some of the tax cuts to expire, it's the Democrats.
There are Senate rules (specifically something known as the Byrd Rule) that require any measures that will increase the deficit by so much after 10 years to require a 60 vote majority to pass.
Obviously since Democrats refuse to do anything other than Resist™ that leaves you in a situation where you can either get "temporary" tax cuts passed with 50 votes or get absolutely nothing.
The "temporary" nature of these cuts is just a paramilitary trick. They will become permanent eventually. The Bush tax cuts did the same thing. They were passed with many of them having a 10 year 'expiration', in 2010, with the expiration dates looming and Democrats controlling everything, the tax cuts were extended and most eventually made permanent.
Republicans would love to make these cuts permanent, they are not the ones forcing this 'temporary' non-sense, the Democrats are.

You and your common sense are not welcome here.

Democrats do not care, they will go into their excuse roladex(helping the rich, hurting the poor, yadayada) as always. They despise Trump and will oppose ANYTHING that he wants. I just wish they would be honest and when asked why they are against something, just say “because Trump is for it”. It’s not that difficult.

You can run yourself into the ground trying to explain this to prog/DEM/MSM slimebalms. They know the facts - they know that all this 'tax breaks for middle class will expire' nonsense is their fault - they know the GOP would make it permanent if only they could get the DEMs to agree - they know THEY are the ones would would fight to the death to make any tex break "temporary'
But they can make such a great 'sound byte' out of it to delude their low-IQ - or venal - voter blocs that they cannot resist.
Shame, logic, facts, nor hypocrisy have ever stopped a DEM politician from lying.

Anyone dumb enough to not understand this should simply pay more because they're dumb

Pile on that Congress will meet 10 more times before the cuts expire.

On the one hand, Dems decry these cuts (still not passed) as a sop to the rich and a budget buster.
In the same breath, they downplay them as a "trick" because they are only for 10 years.
Sadly, a large part of the American public are too fricking stupid to see the contradiction and hypocrisy.
