Would you get upset if Alabama put a star of david on their helmets? Or how about the crescent moon got placed on the LSU helmet?
Would anyone have any problems? Or is it just because it is the christian symbol?
Probably a lot of people would. But if it was a fellow Muslim student who died and they were doing it out of respect, then I would personally have no problem with it. I am assuming it is voluntary.
I wonder it the Freedom from Religion groups would threaten to sue then? It would be an interesting case, that's for sure.

Seriously, we go through these things every day. Just put their names on a decal without a religious affiliation. No big deal.
This is definitely the safer way to go.

You think so? What religion requires it's adherents to wear symbols on everything they wear?
Absolutely!! They wanted to honor the two boys which were Christians. Why not be afforded the opportunity to honor them with the symbol they stood for.

What if they wanted to honor a gay sex addict?

Of course not. "ghey" isn't even a word.

No. Especially if they were honoring their Jewish teammates. I would actually completely understand.
But then again, I'm not looking for reasons to be offended.

Right. It's the LGBTXYZ religion now. Sorry. It changes about like Global Warming. Stay on topic now.

The topic is that the founding fathers had a sincere push to keep religion and government separate. The state cannot have excessive entanglement with religion, promote one religion over another, or promote religion over non-religion.
It's not hard to understand. Supreme Court decisions are LAW. They interpret the constitution. That is why they exist.

It's absurd that you think it shouldn't.
would you be saying the same thing if it was a satanic ritual symbol on their helmets. If not you need to reevaluate your beliefs in freedom of religion

Let's say school doesn't allow facial coverings, is this OK ?
