Why is GM (and Ford, FCA) putting up with this crap?

You do know the difference between being charged vs investigated?

We have this wonderful thing called due process in The US.

Amazing defense above of the potential criminal handling negotiations.

Already "charged". I assume that means the investigation is over.

Good. That means they are probably getting bad advice.

Personally I would take advice from people that are smart enough to not get caught.

Pearson, 58, a former Jones aide who also serves on the union's governing board, is not a member of the UAW-GM national bargaining team

He may well be. Are any of the GM executives involved with said theft and accused in the negotiations?

If he is not part of the bargaining team he has no voice or vote, just like you or I if we visited a session of Congress.

I mean, you realize you’re on strike because of the corruption, right?

FYI. These strike votes are taken by the locals before negotiations ever begin. They lay out what they will accept as a bare minimum and all locals take a vote to strike if they don't achieve what they want. Long before the first negotiations.

The leadership has no credibility in selling a non-walkout deal. It’s pretty simple.

I'm not on strike. I worked a 14 hour shift today.

You could just ask me how many industrial jobs I’ve had. Same answer. How many shellac Union newsletters do you have in your house?

Hope they enjoy their $250/week and that this goes on for a month.

UAW has been nothing but a noose around the neck of US automakers since '36.
