This makes me laugh every time I see some idiot post a version of it.
As if isolationism is some new-fangled idea instead of the foreign policy that the US adhered to for it's first 150 years. During which we had the War of 1812, the Indian Wars, the Mexican-American War, the Spanish American War, the Civil War, WWI, and last but not least, WWII, which included the use of nuclear fricking weapons.
Yeah, that 'Muh 'Merca Fust worked out awesome.
Now, since the US decided to compete with the USSR for the ability to run the world, yeah, we've had additional wars, just like we had when we were isolationists. None of them were world wars and none of them involved nuclear weapons.
And we did defeat the USSR with our proxy war strategy, which was by far the biggest threat to not only the US, but all life on the planet.
Given the choice between world wars, nuclear weapons, and proxy wars such as the ones we've had since then, I'll take option B.
Even if you disagree, acting as though our current foreign policy is the "old, outdated" policy instead of the much older, much more outdated policy of "'Muh 'Merca 'Fust" just demonstrates complete ignorance of American history.
It basically shows that life has become too easy and comfortable for people. Same as when young people act like their generation is put upon like people in the 1930s.
