I have already addressed this multiple times. Scale matters (and I've posted that specifically). Richard Ramirez also claimed he was Satanic. Small groups of "Satanists" (the occult type) do exist. Some have done horrible things. But they're isolated events not part of a wider organization (which is important for SRA, generally).
You also cited an example of the Satanic Panic, where actual evidence of Satanism was not exactly available (hence why the conspiracy charges were dropped). That is the kind of shite that scares me about the proliferation of this mythology again: innocent people will be arrested, and some convicted, off bullshite.

Again, that set of facts you presented is rare in the larger picture. You are fighting with the data that we have. Most pimps exerting some form of control over homeless teens don't have to do that, and the heat would be too great if the teen wanted to leave THAT bad. Look at the stats I posted about % of contact on the first night a teen runs away. There is a constant flowing supply of lower SES teens fleeing psychological and sexual abuse at home. That's why the only way we make a dent in this situation is by fixing that paradigm and severely decreasing psychological abuse, sexual abuse, and rejection of LGBTQ children. We do this and teen homelessness all but dies, and then there aren't teens to traffic.

Yes, if the question is whether it is a good documentary, there are enough concerns about Ballard's veracity to think that the film is greatly embellished ... fear porn.
Again, that does not necessarily mean that it is a bad film ... as a film. Again, questioning the accuracy of THIS STORY (and Ballard's honesty) do not equate to some tacit approval of whatever child sex trafficking may exist.
