So basically the off strip and downtown casinos are thriving like never before because they have stuck to the old Vegas mentality while the new shiny casinos are struggling because they have to pay all of that overhead
Makes sense. If I were visiting Vegas I’d stroll down the strip and check it out. But my money would be spent off the strip.

“They have to live under the hotels.”
NO THEY DONT!! They fricking choose to just like every other homeless troglodyte who refuses to abandon their abhorrent lifestyle. They choose homelessness because they can use drugs or have zero responsibility. Sick of this horseshite narrative that they don’t want to be homeless. YES THEY DO!’

Las Vegas is the most OVERRATED city in America.
Like, whoop-dee-do! A big strip of blinking neon lights, water fountains, big hotels, nasty whores, and colorful slot machines. Big whoop
If I wanted to subject myself to a city built around tackiness I'll just go to Gatlinburg for a weekend and skip donating my money to bum arse casinos

Maybe DOGE killed Vegas. Maybe tourism was all on government cheese for the last however many years.
Maybe culture, spending free money, killed vacation.

I could live without Las Vegas.

Saw this tweet today and remembered this thread
Vegas has always provided expensive things to people with money, while at the same time attempting to provide options for value oriented folks as well.
However nowadays the price of simple things there scream "ripoff" at every turn. $25 drinks, $80 pizzas, etc.
They price things like they have a captive audience who has no choice but to visit, but that clearly isn't the case. Vegas isn't the "must" go destination they think it is.

$25/minimum bets at the nicer hotels are killing Vegas.
And $20+ cocktails
