I think the BAT is dumb too. That said, you're one of the board's biggest cheerleaders for a big government protectionist, but you're breaking out "big government protectionist" as a pejorative when it suits your needs.

Normally I would agree but I've seen enough internally over the past couple of months to say that Trump is a whole different ball game.
I would be happy just to hear an original excuse and not one I've heard Obamabots use the previous eight years.

TX. What do the fascist elite want with regards to this issue? You have the inside track in that stuff. What is the outcome?

The establishment is deathly against the wall. They want open borders for obvious reasons (cheap labor). The corporations are funding Paul Ryan's opposition. And the wall is not necessarily for the Trump administration. They will do a good job of enforcing current immigration law and will control illegal immigration pretty effectively. The wall is for future open border administrations (like Obama's) that will overtly ignore immigration law for cheap labor, NGO pay offs (looking at you Catholic and Moromon churches), and Democrat votes. Their argument about money for the wall is a lie. They are simply worried about the physical barrier and problem it presents with getting people to cross it.

I don't necessarily disagree with your reasoning for illegal immigration (although that only scratches the surface).

I am, however, amused at the dog and pony show the establishment is putting on to get you to believe that Trump is in any way opposed to it.

Let me make this distinction clear:

I'm for tariffs when a trading parter tarriffs out exports, doesn't allow our goods into their country, or other actions adverse to the USA.

I'm 100% against blanket tariffs.

Paul Ryan promoting a 20% tariff on all goods, i.e., BAT is totally unexpected and totally not what we need.

If you want to be revenue neutral (for reconciliation purposes) cut spending.

Oh, and tell Paul Ryan to approve Wilbur Ross' letter of intent to renegotiate NAFTA so we can be revenue neutral on wall funding too.

I refined the OP a bit. There is plenty of money to be made on a non-globalist agenda.

Yep, and let's not forget what Speaker Ryan said...

That was back when Trump was just an embarassment and not yet a dismal failure.
