I'm actually good with getting definitively on record how many Americans are willing to vote for an unabashed full blown socialist for President.

I'm thinking any Republican running against a Socialist would realize a bigger victory than either Nixon's or Reagan's.

If Trump somehow blows this we will melt 3 times harder than the left and establishment have melted for the past 4 years.
Chances are like 5% - We all need to stay fired up and work our asses off to defeat the cancer of actual socialism.

Trump v Bern would be good for the country. A lot of people need to be truly educated about socialism. Most people under age 40 have no clue, and the left has gotten away with lying about it for years. Trump is right person to force a real discussion about socialism, and Bernie doesn't hide his true ideology as much as the other socialists in his party.

This is shaping up to be our version of Obama vs. McCain. People could see a mile away that McCain had no shot to beat him, but there was nothing to be done about it but watch the inevitable.

That was then and this is now. Today is MUCH different, politically, than the 1980s and especially the 1970s. Do not underestimate the ignorance of democrats to come out in droves to enthusiastically vote for a socialist against Trump.

I guess you're right, Trump is a rather marginal candidate as far as Republicans go. But I do agree with his strategy, get the Democrats to put Bernie up, and it won't be close. Bernie's his easiest opponent.
