Immigration discussions at the White House with representatives of Mexico have ended for the day. Progress is being made, but not nearly enough! Border arrests for May are at 133,000 because of Mexico & the Democrats in Congress refusing to budge on immigration reform. Further...

....talks with Mexico will resume tomorrow with the understanding that, if no agreement is reached, Tariffs at the 5% level will begin on Monday, with monthly increases as per schedule. The higher the Tariffs go, the higher the number of companies that will move back to the USA!

Trump is our only hope, no one else has any, any balls on this matter. The Dems want us overrun, for votes, and the rich want cheap labor, while Socialism looms to destroy us all...

Mexico deserves these tariffs

Congress refuses to act, so Trump will

I'll pay another $.78 for avocados to prevent a complete 3rd world takeover. Much cheaper in the long run

Thank You Mr. President, please tax the money being sent from the U.S. into mexico, get them coming and going

So far the tariffs haven’t reached the American consumer.
Actually, quite a few manufacturers are moving into the country.

Oh yeah, mangoes and avocados will cost a few pennies more. BFD! Maybe we can start growing more of those on good ol' American soil.
This is one 'tax' I'm happy to pay!

This tax brings more jobs to this country unlike the democrats tax that cost us jobs . This tax also stop the illegals from coming here because democrats fight for open borders.

No one ever mentions it, but the economy is strong right now. If trade and immigration imbalances can ever occur it is now.
You can not negotiate during a weak or high inflation economy. NOW is the time.
There was a program on PBS (FRONTLINE, I believe) about the trade war. Businesses wanted a correction to take place, but they didn’t want to sacrifice their sales while at the same time getting screwed by China. Same is happening with Mexico. Now is the time to put pressure.

This is the fault of the assholes in Congress

No, you idiot. Us Conservatives understand that every illegal alien that comes into this country consumes a significant amount of our tax dollars and resources, and the cost-offsetting that will ultimately result from these tariffs will FAR outweigh any residual consumer price inflation.
It's sad that you and your ilk are too stupid to get this, though.

Unlike the enormous taxes we pay for the costs associated with immigration. Why aren't you concerned about those affecting the American consumer?

This move not only puts pressure on Mexico, but also on Congress. Congress is the one body holding up proper border control and this puts the spotlight on them.
Also, auto manufacturing alone constitutes almost 18% of Mexican manufacturing. You think these companies are not howling to the Mexican government? The margins in the auto market are not enough to just eat a 5% price increase.

I'd rather pay Tariffs than spend billions every day on illegals
