Meh.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Wash Post, NYT and a host of others have been arms of the Democratic Party for 30 years literally getting talking points from and acting upon direction from the DNC.

So, forgive me if I think your concern seems contrived and situational.

That answer doesn't make sense in light of your posts in this thread.

If it merely ends with him having his own media channel, what's the scary fuss?

I mean, I really don't give a frick. I won't be watching it. But, what am I supposed to be scared of?

FoxNews is obviously part of Trump's propaganda machine and I don't care about them

It concerns me with the POTUS actually owns it and brands it at such

And this could be repeated right back at you and the other FWIW

Why? Explain.

90% of the major media outlets are AT BEST, left of center.

So, you'll have to forgive me if I point out brazenly false equivalence.

I mean yeah. FOX is biased and yep, often gets its talking points from Republicans.

LOL. Welp, OK. That's one.

That you have a bad case of false equivalence?

Yep. Exactly.

You'll note, I didn't say that it's all good that FOX does that. There's a reason I don't watch much in the way of network or cable news.

But LOL.

I'm 50. Watching liberals bitch about FOX is comedy gold.

For the first 30 years of my life, there were ZERO major outlets like FOX.

And then, there was 1. Oh boo hoo liberals. You can't have 100% of the outlets.

Not a single liberal gave a rat's frick when the DNC was plugged in and controlled the ENTIRE media landscape.

Hell, they were so used to ONLY their view getting out that they let a fricking radio personality drive them batty and into a frenzy to silence.

So, spare me the bull shite false equivalence cause it's not even in the same universe.

I don't bitch about FoxNews.

I consider them all entertainment channels these days.

It's not a false equivalence because your concerns are literally situational.

I'm sure the two leaders of a squad on the battlefield being approached on two sides...........on one side, an armed battalion...........on the other..........an armed squad...........could be said to have "situational" concerns.

But, the guy who elects to be more concerned about the approaching battalion is the smart one. The one saying, "but shouldn't you be concerned about that squad too" is being obtuse.

You're rambling now.

I'm concerned with an active POTUS starting and branding his own media channel. I'd be concerned if it was Obama, Trump, Rand Paul, etc. I think it sets a bad precedent and can only really lead one way.

There is nothing "contrived or situational" about that. I don't give a shite about all the other MSM.

I'd rather he call it Trump TV than some obscure name. I mean, I think even a complete doofus knows that something called Trump or Obama TV is probably going to look favorably on the namesake.

OK. Now YOU'RE dodging because I asked where it would lead and you said, "to him having his own channel" but now, you're saying, him having his own channel will "lead" somewhere.

So. I ask again. Lead where?

Ok.

I think Trump's entire motives for a lot of his actions has been to brand and create his own channel. I think this the start of that.

But I also think this type of precedent could lead to more true "state ran media" down the road. I also don't like the idea of Trump TV all of a sudden getting all these exclusive interviews with Trump and/or the WH or having greater access.

That is what I think it can/could lead to.

Well, that's just conjecture and silly conjecture at that.

Well, I mean, has that happened yet? And, even if it does, giving interviews to people you consider somewhat friendly to you has been a staple of the American presidency since..........well........forever. In fact, it's sort of the norm.

Presidents don't typically go into the lion's den very much and when they do, it's absolutely the exception.

So, you think it "could lead to" what we've already had for..........like.........ever?
