Go to your local grocery store and you will find Kona coffee to buy
Kona "blend". Most Kona coffee sold on the mainland in grocery stores is a blend of Kona and beans from outside the U.S. Real Kona coffee on the mainland is stupid expensive. Even with the tariffs it is more expensive than stuff from Brazil.

Sorry, none of that is relevant, for reasons or something.

Jesus wept. That's an inflation RATE chart, not a price chart. Food prices are not lower.
They are petty children grasping at ANY information or data point that somehow proves that tariffs don’t have ANY consequence. Unfortunately for them, the data is piling up. Lack of jobs, corporate bankruptcies, increased prices, foreclosures, credit card defaults, etc.
The irony is that this is what tariffs are designed to do - make imports more expensive. They are no different than any other tax which stifles growth and results in job losses.
So I have no idea why they are trying so hard to “prove that tariffs are inconsequential. They should embrace these high prices.

They'll just pivot to "Trump just lowered food prices" and celebrate.
Definitely no July 4th hot dog price celebration like under Biden

Trump's ridiculously and un-precedented shut down and interruption of the entire US economy (including tens of thousands of small - medium businesses) contributed mightily to food escalation during The Turnip's run.
Amazing how this is all Trumps fault now

Well boy wonder, I would love for you and the other economic, free trade geniuses to explain how the US can correct the major flaws in a service based economy that has off shored a lot of productivity without using tariffs. Don’t give me the specialization bs and the free market will correct itself magic. There are no free markets in the World and you bitch and moan about tariffs while simultaneously complaining that there aren’t enough high paying jobs. As long as the majority of careers in the US are service based and we rely on cheap, imported goods nothing will ever change. With the continued evolution of AI, technology based careers will dwindle.

Americans need to eat less, fattest nation in the world
Doing my part. Not only eating less, but far healthier. RFK2 devoted his entire adult life to exposing all this unhealthy crap and it took me until about a year ago to actually hear him, but I have finally done so.
Went from 6'3" and 265lb during the last Holiday Season down to 218# right now, about 10 pounds from a perfect BMI for my frame. Feeling pretty damned good too.

Why is Trump cutting tariffs on some items if the tariffs "dont raise prices?"
Posted on 11/14/25 at 10:24 am to RogerTheShrubber
