I really don't know. I can tell you from working with CBP, in immigration, and having a family member as border patrol agent that complaints regarding the inability (manpower, other resources, etc.) go back way before Obama's administration. I do not know how to gauge their performance against prior years, particularly in light of the fact that the prior administration probably disagreed with agents as well as some senior folks.

I think this very well invalidates your opinion. That's what I was looking for. Thanks.

I agree with comprehensive immigration reform that includes giving CBP whatever they want to get the job done. So I don't think it equates to "common sense gun control."

Have you bothered to read any statement by politicians since 2009? If you did, there's not really any way you can defend what you are defining as CIR as being what the mainstream understands that term to be.

I was a Border Patrol agent for almost 10 years and have enough sources inside to know this is what really happened.

This is how you qualify a "I have inside info" statement. Well done sir.

He resigned in the way that Johnny Jones is going to "resign" soon.

Stop asking stupid questions in lieu of actually making arguments. Our discussion of comprehensive reform arises from statements made by the sacked chief. His statements, including what he claims to support and what he doesn't, are a matter of media record. I referenced those statements/beliefs.

I properly used comprehensive immigration reform to describe his views, just as I'd use it to describe mine. That it's an abused term that you think means wholesale amnesty when used by the media/left is entirely irrelevant to anything we're discussing. If you want to argue that his version of comprehensive reform aligns with complete amnesty (which he denies) then make that argument.

In 2014 they turned FLETC into a summer camp for hundreds of illegal families from Central America.

Due to a hiring freeze and open borders, illegal immigrants were literally sleeping in the beds that used to be for new border patrol agents training at the academy.

The problem with discussing anything with you is you don't know what any agency in government does. There is no sense in arguing with someone who doesn't understand rudimentary basics about what government agencies' missions are. To remediate you would take significantly more investment than I am willing to make. You don't know why CIR is a dog whistle. You don't know what the primary mission of CPB is. You can't evaluate its effectiveness. What is there to argue about? Have a good one.

This. Seems like everyone has forgotten that there are consequences for things you say/do. And that's what's wrong with society today.

Being purposefully obtuse to move the conversation away from failing to substantiate your argument.

"I'm quitting and declaring myself winner"

You came in, as you usually do, and posed questions. I responded to them in a normal, conversational manner. Instead of us having a discussion, you make a petty remark, then when challenged, ask another question.

Now, you're telling someone who probably has far more working knowledge about government agencies that they don't know anything so you're taking your ball and going home.
