To reiterate. Focus on what can be changed. Like election laws. Ensure accurate elections. Get ahead of the shenanigans. Find someone who doesn’t rally the opposition, but does rally conservatives. That person isn’t DJT, despite his 4 successful years as president.

I think that's what Psych's getting at, that the same tools and weapons and blueprints of deceit that were used against Trump will be used against whomever the Republican candidate is, Desantis included. They're coming off what they perceive was and is an unbeatable strategy and if anything will ramp up those efforts and tactics. Whoever the Republican candidate is needs to be the best prepared and equipped to take on those tactics.
As far as "rallying" is concerned on Trump's part, he was good enough at rallying to win in 2016, then improved on that vote total by at least 12 million. It doesn't appear that rallying is a big problem for Trump.

And I do get what you're saying as well, it's not an unreasonable take for someone to adopt, I just happen to disagree with it. Now, I do also acknowledge this is merely a gut feeling, yes, but I have a hunch that at this time the Left fears Trump the most as a Republican Presidential candidate, and the strategy that they're currently employing is to help foster a perception of a growing rift and rivalry between "Team Trump" and "Team Desantis". Which is ultimately a very unproductive thing. I'm not quite sure how to address that possibility right now, but it does need to be addressed somehow, and sooner than later.
