I don't care about the opinion of someone whose only idea is "turn it into glass."

Sure, but only the Chiefs believe it.

Captains know how to get their men to work.

The same thing is literally happening today. We're just more subtle about it and rebranding it as nation building, spreading democracy and all that shite.

And that ignores the arrogant and stupid idea that we can give a native people freedom, democracy and western living like it's a physical good.

We can't give it to them because they have to earn all that and that is never going to happen because Afghanistan is a shithole that's full of people that like to live in 5th century stone ages and they will fight and have fought like hell to keep it that way.

The sooner we can accept this harsh truth, the better off we will be.

Agreed.
Let them kill each other until they are tired of it.

Probably a valid solution. But we both know that’s not going to change. So knowing that we can never actually use this strategy then what’s the point in staying?

I for one would have been happy to let them live in the 5th Century, But they decided to try and make the rest of us live that way.

So, they needed to be shown things don't work like that. Nuke those rocks into glass and we wouldn't have had to worry about it ever again.

First off...we shouldn't be there.

Secondly, outside of making it the 51st state and forcing the issue with blood and guts, winning was never a goal (perpetual warfare $ seems more likely). As for the USSR, without our support of the Mujahedeen, the Soviets may have won (temporarily). They took over all of the other shithole "Stans" in Central Asia. However, just like the other Stans, Afghanistan would have risen from the asshes after "the fall."
Now the goal, as seemingly claimed by the lib progs, is womens rights. According to the "feelings" crowd, Operation Enduring Freedom was about womens suffrage and educational rights.

Lastly, my son told me that the owner of the company he works for told his CEO to ask his employees (hundreds globally) what policy decisions were stupid. The CEO told him that he thought it was a bad idea. He said send the email anyway. It turned out to be a major cost saving measure. It was a lesson learned for the CEO. In the case of the military, our Generals can be disconnected from reality. They are the CEO's of the military. The guys actually wearing the boots on the ground should actually be listened to imo.

TLDR - Trump is correct...

again.

We didn't try my way. You don't even know what my way is.

Too many people like you who have no idea how to fight anything, let alone a war, get a say.

My way gets THEM a list of casualties, and the end was 20 years ago.

Your way costs us a significant portion of our allies and creates nothing but enemies.

Your way is emotion and ignorance.

I love this President. Let’s pull all the troops, MOAB the place, and focus on our own country. It’s time to stop wasting American lives for that 5th century shithole. Bin Laden, Baghdadi, al Awakdjdifjensjd, etc are dead. Time to bring our troops home.

I agree.

Everyone in the Navy believes it.

Orders come from the officers.

Ship info comes from Chiefs. Always been that way, always will.

The only force personnel info an officer has, is information he just got off his Chief.

It is the entire reason the CMC and FORCM exist, if we are being honest.
