Snopes Confirms Dems Tried to Impeach Every Elected GOP President Since Eisenhower
They did it by accident
quote:
The claim is: “Have Democrats Tried to Impeach Every GOP President Since Ike?”
quote:
Looking to debunk this mostly true claim, Snopes accidentally confirms that Democrats have indeed tried to impeach every elected Republican president since Eisenhower [emphasis mine]:
The U.S. has had six republican presidents since Eisenhower left office in 1961: Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump. The claim is wrong on its face because Democrats made no effort to impeach Ford. While a handful of Democratic lawmakers have introduced articles of impeachment against five of the last six Republican presidents, in most cases these efforts weren’t taken seriously by the party at large. Nixon and Trump have been the only Republican presidents since Ike who have faced a serious threat of impeachment.
quote:
So, Snopes has indeed confirmed that Democrats have “introduced articles of impeachment against five of the last six Republican presidents,” the sole exception being Gerald Ford, who was not elected.

I would imagine this will be the norm for every republican president for now on. The democrats have proven they will stoop to any means fair or foul when they don't get their way and I don't see that stopping any time soon

Every president since 1980 has been subject of at least one resolution into congress with the purpose of impeachment

I know, remember how exhaustive Obama's was? The unending barrage on it was merciless.

Hell, the Republicans couldn't even get Obamacare impeached, much less the man himself.

Don’t ever remember hearing about this. Will investigate.

In March 2012, Representative Walter B. Jones introduced H. Con. Res. 107, calling for Congress to hold the sentiment that certain actions of President Barack Obama be considered as impeachable offenses, including the CIA's drone program in Afghanistan and Pakistan.[20] The resolution died in the House Judiciary Committee.
On December 3, 2013, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on whether or not to impeach the president. At the hearing, there were views among Republicans that the president had not done his duty and that he abused his executive power
I vaguely remember it. This is from wikipedia.
Seems as if the democrats have a bunch of experience launching impeachment inquiries

Yeah. That and campaign rallies and talk shows were the only evidence I saw. No actual attempt to being articles of impeachment up.
I don’t want to pretend to be fully educated but Dems sure do like impeachment.
