I couldn't wait for Dubya's second term to end because of the daily drumbeat of criticism from the left and their surrogates in the press. Dubya tried to be conciliatory and eventually was beaten down. In contrast, I welcome the daily dose of progressive madness directed at Trump from the left because I know Trump is going to fight back and expose the left for the the fools they are. Hopefully, future Republican candidates are taking notice of his take no prisoners approach.

Meh, Dubya was pretty much a member of the Uniparty. He might have disagreed with the left on some issues (Iraq), but ultimately he knew not to rock the boat.

if it were up to Conservatives they would have ran Bush, Rubio, or Cruz and gotten crushed by Hillary. Trump redrew the Electoral map and was the only one who could beat Hillary. None of the others would have defended themselves in a debate like Trump did. They would have been like McCain or Romney and been bullied and steamrolled.

This is the greatest lesson in his candidacy, but most candidates with the R behind their name lack the intestinal fortitude to fight back and take the fight to the other side. They acquiesce. It’s what they do.

Republicans for too long were just an extension of the Democratic Party, all they really disagreed on was a few social issues and those were mostly election issues that soon were forgotten.
Like campaigning on abortion as if that was going to get overturned.
Both parties were in the corporate pockets, the banks and globalists.
And Republicans always tried to play nice and reach across the aisle despite the MSM pilloring them on a daily basis.

It's refreshing to have someone that doesn't bend over backwards to look like the good guy to people who hate them and will never see them that way. Republicans have lost so much because they take advice from their ideological enemies and are terrified of being called some sort of -ists. I never spammed 'cuck', but I completely understand why cuckservative is used to describe them.

Ben Sasse is someone that comes to mind as the prototypical GOP cuck as he constantly rails about civility but would get tarred and feathered by the left.
