Trump: income taxes will be substantially reduced, maybe even completely eliminated
Might as well believe in Santa claus.

He is an expert is bankrupting organizations. Might as well announce a $10 trillion infrastructure program on top of the existing $36 Trillion + in debt.

If tariffs are left at 10% across the board that would be $411B in revenue($4.11T in imports last year)
Last year we had 2
$2.4T in revenue from income taxes last year. Cut revenue to $2.0T and cut everyone’s taxes 17%.

If the new tariffs are the driver in eliminating income taxes why is there discussion in these negotiations to bring down the threatened tariffs that are currently paused with most and in effect for China? We've had tariffs in effect for quite some time already but I guess those don't count according to that statement because "when tariffs cut in".

Yep. Or going back even further:
“Read my lips. No new taxes.”
The genius of that was - the Dems controlled congress, so they forced a tax hike on HW, thus breaking his campaign promise.
Then they ran against him on that broken promise, got Billy Jeff in there who proceeded to raise taxes more than they had ever been raised before.

Yeah, so many role reversals now as compared to the late 90s, early 2000s.
Billy Jeff had budget surpluses for fiscal years 1998–2001, conservatives and democrats both loved that idea that back then.
